I dont believe. They havent changed it in so long, and with all the talk about it being cancelled, why would they redesign it now. Though it could do them a lot of good. Their getting out of a market they owned for so long.

I don't wanna see it go. Especially if the go to a mid sized truck. I been thinking about buying a new one and I sure cant afford a full sized truck as much as I would like one.

the ranger has had only 1 body change in the 26 some odd years... its time for a change... i would like to see it stick around especially with gas prices... ford would be stupid to cut the ranger... especially the 4 cyl ones

I have always liked the Rangers. Im too big to drive one, comfortably anyway. But I would hate to see them go.

There are a lot Of Rangers sold to businesses so it would be hard to say that they are being
discontinued , I saw a picture of a '09 Mazda and I posted it in FTW but now I can't find it anywhere on the web. It was all rounded in the front , kinda ugly.
To be honest I'm not sure how they compare to the Cheby's small truck.
But out here in the NW there a lot of businesses using the Ranger.
I can't see a mid size Ford truck as the standard F150 isn't much bigger than the
Dakota. Also Fords web site states that they are the onlt auto maker putting out
a small truck with a 7ft. bed.
Quote ,
"Ranger is the only compact pickup to offer a 7-foot-long box, which allows it to carry more (and longer) cargo. A 6-foot cargo box is standard."

07 was gonna be the last year, then 08 was gonna be the last year, now im pretty sure they are gonna make an 09 as well, but i have not heard about any major changes, the ranger is a tried and true platform, there is no doubt in my mind that it is the toughest, best built small truck on the market today, looking at the way they are built its much like a small SD, and built in a more practical, strong and easy to work on manner, thats my feelings

i would love to see the crew cab and the 3.0 diesel become available in the US, i think sales would be through the roof if you could get em with a little diesel

Hope they dont discontinue it, have been thinking about getting rid if the F150 and getting a smaller truck again and that is what I want. Have had 3 different Rangers and loved them all. Still wish i would have kept my last one. My first was an 86, then a 95, and the last one was a 04 Edge. Would be nice to see one with a V8 before Ford gets rid of it.

IMO Ford needs to not focus so much on bigger motors like they are gonna do with the F150, dropping the 6cyl and adding a BIGGER V8 than the 5.4L to the line. Still 3 motor options, the 4.6, 5.4 and some bigger one i forget the liters on
Right now the rangers have the best MPG than any other truck on the market. I drove a new single cab short bed 2wd 4cyl 5spd the other day at work. Needed some gas... got that sucker to churp 2nd and 3rd. I LOVE that duratec!!! The Lima 2.3 and 2.5 was a great motor too... minus the 90RWHP and the head problems.
Mines getting the head re-done once the dodge is running. The valve are sticking open and it makes it misfire. Been doing it since ive bought it, but its gettin worse.... then i get mad when it does it and end up beating the crap out of it.
I could also turbo it for $3500.... mmmmmm 300RWHP and 100+ 1/4 passes with 20+ MPG haha
anyway... if ford can keep the 26mpg the 4 banger is pullin out now, and then maybe even the 30s with the diesel, i think it would be hot selling little truck.
